The Clarus Networks Group

Using PR to bring complex technology to life, showcasing the skills of a company connecting the most remote places on Earth

The Brief

  • The Clarus Networks Group specialises in offering managed networking solutions to connect businesses with their teams across the world, no matter how remotely located they are. Clarus uses low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites and wireless mobile technology to deliver a lightning fast connection to anywhere, from vessels in the middle of the ocean to mountain rescue teams on operation.

  • Perceptive’s brief was to maximise visibility and build awareness of Clarus as a satcoms and telecoms leader, covering a range of sectors and with a deep industry expertise.

Our Approach

  • Clarus has a wide offering and operates in many different sectors, so Perceptive designed a communication strategy which covered priority sectors and markets, with all activities advancing strategic business objectives.

  • Showcasing the power of Clarus technology through key milestone projects which resulted in broader coverage, including Clarus’ work to install the first high speed satellite internet on the remote island of Papa Stour, in Shetland. Perceptive supported Clarus with managing a broad range of stakeholders, ensuring Clarus quotes were front and centre. The complex technology was brought to life by showing the impact of the technology on people and businesses on the island, resulting in high quality coverage in The Evening Standard and BBC.

  • Positioning the Clarus leadership team as expert voices in both Scottish Business and key trade targets, both commenting on tech or policy updates and sharing insightful opinion articles.

  • Demonstrating the company culture and creating team pride by celebrating new hires, offices and developments, tailoring press releases to specific audiences.

Results

  • 140 pieces of earned media coverage, including the Evening Standard, BBC, Scotsman and a feature interview in DIGIT

  • 205 million potential audience reach

  • Our coverage included key target trades which Clarus hadn’t reached before, such as renews.biz and Digital Ship

Outcomes & Impact

  • Significantly increased Clarus’ media profile in key outlets, demonstrating their unique offering and services

  • Clarus has become a key thought leader on improving Scotland’s connectivity through satellite communications, generating speaking opportunities at conferences and events

  • A release about Clarus’ new specialist Maritime & Energy division led to a noted increase in enquiries from the Maritime and Energy sectors, resulting in driving new business

Client Feedback

"Partnering with Perceptive has enabled Clarus to communicate the impact of our work and helped to drive more inquiries in our specialist areas. Perceptive’s strategic approach not only elevated our brand, but also positioned Clarus as an industry leader by reaching new and specialist audiences for the first time.

Clarus hit a number of key milestones recently, including opening a specialist division and working with the UK Government to bring satellite internet to a remote part of Shetland for the first time. As we grow, Perceptive continues to be an important extension of our team, always delivering impressive results.”
