Lost Shore Surf Resort
Our Work
Lost Shore Surf Resort (formerly known as Wavegarden Scotland) will be the country’s first artificial surf park and leisure facility at Craigpark Quarry in Ratho, Edinburgh. Once built, the destination will provide a world-class surfing facility, self-catering guest lodges, a waterfront café and many more sports activities – all situated within the rolling hills of a beautiful country park.
Our communications strategy since 2017 has been to create a groundswell of positive support using integrated PR, public affairs and social media to talk about several key milestones in the journey from start to finish for this exciting new addition to the leisure scene in Scotland.
Perceptive helped secure planning permission for the project by maximising community engagement and we positively engaged political and community stakeholders before the planning permission was confirmed. The announcement which followed included a supporting PR, marketing and social media campaign which generated excellent results for the Lost Shore Surf Resort team.
We have also delivered media training and spokespeople training with the Lost Shore Surf Resort team.

What our clients say
Andy Hadden - MD and co-founder of Lost Shore Surf Resort
"We heard about Perceptive through a PR agency recommendation from a trusted contact. Following a competitive pitch, we chose Perceptive as they understood us and the brief well, had excellent contacts and had strong experience of building blue chip brands, often from scratch.
"Since then the Perceptive team have been instrumental in helping us to influence hard to reach key stakeholders and achieving overwhelmingly positive media coverage in a range of important titles, from local media in Scotland to international and trade publications. We really enjoyed the media training that Perceptive took us through. Perceptive has also been very helpful in guiding us on social media, helping us to use this to influence effectively and efficiently. They are also commercially focused and have brought their great network of useful contacts to bear to help us achieve our goals. Working with an international brand like Wavegarden while also delivering Lost Shore Surf Resort, it is important to have a considered approach; Perceptive has built very positive relationships and delivered very well on this too."
