Living with incurable breast cancer has been a defining time in my life. Throughout this experience, I've come to understand the critical need for robust support systems for those affected by this devastating disease. This led me to found Cancer Card, a charity dedicated to revolutionising how we access and deliver cancer support services. While Cancer Card doesn't provide direct medical care, its impact is immeasurable and one I wish I was able to experience when I received my diagnosis six years ago.

Unfortunately along with thousands of people every year, I was diagnosed with cancer in 2017. My diagnosis was incurable stage 4 breast cancer. As I began the Everest-like challenge of navigating my own cancer journey, I quickly became overwhelmed not just by the diagnosis, but also in my search for information and support services.

Being diagnosed with incurable cancer in 2017 was a devastating blow for me and my family. Back then, I did not even think I would still be alive in 2023, never mind being honoured with an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List.

In our lifetime, one in two of us will hear those three little words ‘You have cancer’. It’s a life changing, devastating moment in time, no matter if you are a wealthy CEO or barely started school.
